Cal-Salmon Nordheimer Race Schedule and Logistics.

Things to bring:

• Your own food and water, camping gear, etc.
• $1 for every raffle ticket you would like to purchase.
o All Proceeds benefit the Sean Langevin Memorial Fund.
• $5 for race insurance if you are not an ACA member.
• $10 if you would like an Event T-Shirt. 100 available.
o All Proceeds benefit the Sean Langevin Memorial Fund.
• Pirate/Superhero/Supervillian Costume which you can race in.

Other Important Notes:

• If you bring it in, pack it out. This includes trash, recycling, etc. We are trying to minimize the affect on the local community from all the trash etc that may collect so please help pickup trash and please take all trash out with you.
• DRIVE SLOWLY! The Forks of Salmon Road is dangerous and contains many blind turns. Please limit your speed to 15-20mph any time you are driving this weekend.


Friday, May 2nd, 2008

3pm – Group Campsites A + B will be available for Camping. Please follow any signs or instructions you see at the campground regarding parking.


Saturday, May 3rd 2008

9:00am – Pre Race Meeting- Campground B.
The object of this meeting will be to:
1. Recognize which vehicles and individuals will be used for shuttle and gear transportation.
2. Begin Registration for the race, pay $5 insurance fee if you do not have an ACA membership.
3. Group spectators together so that they can organize where they will be viewing from and reduce amount of unnecessary vehicles on the road.
4. Locate individuals who will not be racing and will volunteer to do safety, etc.

9:30m – Begin loading vehicles with gear to be shuttled to Nordheimer Beach Put-in from the group Campsites. Once a vehicle is filled with gear it will depart for the Put-in, unload, and wait in the upper gravel parking area for all vehicles that will be part of shuttle to Take-out.

10:30am – All vehicles involved in the shuttle process will depart upper Nordheimer Campground gravel parking area for Butler Ledge (Take-out).

Once shuttle is set all drivers will be given a ride back to the put-in by shuttle cars.

11:45am – Pre race photograph at Put-in.

12:02pm - Race will begin in Mass Start format. Starting positions will be determined by Themed Spirit Participation. Those who are dressed up/spirited as Pirates/Superheroes/Supervillians will be given the more preferred starting locations. If you have a problem with this become creative, make some character up, and act really excited about it. It costs nothing to act like a pirate and say “Arrrrghhhhh”.

Starting positions will go as follows:
• Kayaks
• Rafts
• Catarafts
• Riverboarders / Unlimited Class

Finish line will be located at the bottom of Freight Train Rapid. Racers will have their numbers recorded. Racers are encouraged to gather at the bottom of Freight Train Rapid and support racers as they finish.

Once the race is complete racers will take-out at Butler Ledge and load into the shuttle vehicles waiting at take-out.

5:00pm: Safety Round-Robin, Adam Robbins of New River Rescue Center. Campground B.

6:30pm: Whiffle ball game at Campground B.

8:30pm: Photo Slideshow by Chris Zawacki and Darin McQuoid showcasing photos from Hotel Charley III locations.

9:00pm: Premier Hotel Charley III

10:00pm: Raffle and Awards for Race

10:30pm: Premier Source

Sunday, May 4th 2008

Optional Group Service Project for the Salmon River Restoration Council. Time – TBD.

Pack up and leave Group Campsites by 3pm.
