    Default Lovers Leap

we just got off lovers leap today. Thought it would be a mank fest but its awsome. all the rapids channel up and there are tons of 5-10 ft. boofs. Super quick run worth doing if anyone is trying to do a quick run other than SS. The mank wasn't bad, and all the main rapids have the same lines, superorbital is the only rapid that gets that bad (shallow).
Also, noticed on Fantasy and Lovers broken boats down by the river. The boat on lovers was only 100ft. from the road. Hike those out man, it gives kayakers a bad name when people see boats lying in the river bed. Even SS the trail in has plastic on the rocks going to the river. That hike is all of 100 yards, shoulder it in there. charlie.

    Dang!

I thought for sure it was too low when I eyed it from the bridge.

I wonder if the Silver Fork is doable, did you by chance take a peek?

Default hide or hike out broken boats

definitely agreed that boats shouldn't be abandoned on the side of the river, especially on wilderness runs. at the absolute minimum, i think an abandoned boat should be hidden or buried where no one will ever find it (not an option on many runs).

story we heard recently was that last year, a paddler with a crew of southeasterners punctured his abdomen and broke his boat 10 miles into the middle kings, in a big rapid with a spiky log. he was stitched up and then hiked out the 22 miles over 12,000 foot bishop pass back to civilization. a (mere!) week later he returned, then hiked his boat back for the 44 mile round trip.
