I was boating the T on Friday, August 10, 2012 when an oar popped off in Clavey and disappeared underwater after going off the last ledge drop (the one after the hole against the left wall in Clavey approx 3ft or so high - this may be Son of Clavey but I'm not sure). Either way it HAD been floating before so it is presumably stuck under the rocks right below this drop. The blade should be marked with my last name and house number. These are "Rieser" and "916-four5one-5six3five" (all as numbers). My cell is 916-3nine6-eight0nine5. Please give me or the house a call if the oar is found.
I'm also concerned about the possible entrapment hazard this poses to swimmers swimming that drop. I hiked upstream and tried to spot it but was unable to see much other than possibly a little yellow in the turmoil of the water. If anyone is in the area at fish flows, please take a look and see if it's extractable. A finders fee can be discussed upon retrieval of the oar (if it's still in working order - it was perfectly fine before it took the dive to the bottom). Thanks!
Cheers,
Gavin
