Boating Fatality on Kern - Was this Dry Meadow?

Does anyone have information on what or how this happened? My condolonces to anyone related

From what I heard, it is not a boating death. It was some people who went down dry meadow creek canyoneering and decided to float down the kern instead of hike back. They were unaware of the rapids in that section and one guy floated into Carson Falls and drown. My condolences to the family.

So he was just floating down the river with no boat? Going through Carson or the Vortex without a boat would be crazy. I swam a class VI creek when I was young (and stupid), and was lucky to walk away with a few gashes.

I'm sure he had no idea what was up ahead. Tragic.
