Modeled after the Sin, the Jib was made by perception and marketed as a "child's" boat. It's better for someone who wants a small plastic squirt boat but could also be used by younger children. Some of us were amused by it and paddled it on a lot of III+/IV, it just rides on a different layer of water and can be really fun.

The Sally is a super cool concept boat out of New Zealand. It handles/performs like a regular kayak, but rolls up to fit inside a pack (I have a custom mesh pack that is included) and is only 29 pounds, which makes it great for those hard-to-access creeks. Because of the boat's rocker, the inflatable tubes, and the huge cockpit (with a custom skirt; also included) you can run incredibly steep, low-volume creeks much more safely than in a hardshell boat, as well as running medium/high volume rivers the same as if you were in a “real” kayak.

Here’s a link to the US distributor’s info:
http://www.inceptmarine.com/k30x-whi...able-kayak.htm

and here’s a video of the boat in action:
http://www.inceptmarine.com/media/incept-sally.html

and here’s a third-party seller of it:
http://www.theboatpeople.com/solo-wh...e-river-kayak/

Because of the scarcity of the boats and the US/NZ dollar discrepancy, the retail price is prohibitive: $2200+. But I want to get rid of mine – I live in Utah, and someone forgot to tell me it’s a desert here – so I’m only asking $600 each, and not only that but I have TWO of them, so you can get one for your buddy as well so you can have a partner for the killer adventures that these boats can get you into.

They are awesome toys for adventure, and if I lived in a place that was appropriate for them (ie had good rivers/creeks!) I’d be all over them, but as it is I think someone else can do them better justice than I can.

A few of us are heading down to Cali (from Oregon) over the weekend for some, cough, cough… boating – it’s obviously a tough water year. We were hoping to hit South Silver on Friday and Saturday, but watching the Kyburz gauge plummet from the cold front, I’m not even sure if it’s worth the effort to stop by there. Any thoughts?

After South Silver, we were planning to head to the Cherry Creek run on the Tuolumne, where it looks like the estimated flow (at Mushroom) will be around ~1,900cfs. My understanding is that this would be on the higher end of the range, but is it still good to go that high?

Any other ideas for IV+/V boating in the Sierras?

Thanks in advance for any info!
Should we run the Sierra City run on the Yuba on Friday before we leave the state? How low is too low?
Any hot tips on what we could paddle on the way to the MF Salmon much appreciated...

Dagger RPM in great shape, made in 98. I added the outfitting from a Jackson river runner, padded Sweet Cheeks for the seat, padded thigh hooks, adjustable backband and I padded the adjustable footrests. The hull is in good shape with no sun damage, oil-canning or deep scratches. Its a great beginner boat as its stable and rolls easily and helps one to perfect their technique due to its longer lines. I'm asking $300 for the boat alone, sorry no paddle or spray skirt with it but it takes a large for the spray skirt.
I do have a pair of float bags for the stern I would sell separately. They are the Wildwasser overnight stowable bags that are float bags and dry bags as well. They cost me $86 for the pair. I'd take $45 for them as they are in great shape. See http://www.coloradokayak.com/Wildwas...lti-Float.html
I live near Santa Cruz but could possibly meet somewhere in the Sierra foothills during a kayak trip.
