For those running out of water elsewhere in California...

The Kern looks like it will be going strong through September. Flow are 1290 right now and should stay around 1000 for a couple of more weeks. For those looking for some class IV-V action, there will apparently be NO DIVERSION below Democrat Dam until next year sometime due to repairs. This means that the full flow will be going through the canyon!

There is a fun III-IV run called the Richbar section - a run that many people miss. Also, the Democrat run (III-IV) is still good down to 700 (even lower if you like technical stuff).

Just wanted to post some info in the hopes that a few more people will come enjoy our river.

Cheers,
Eric G.

Eric,
Mike from San Diego. I think Bruce and I are going to be doing the 'racts on the 24th-25th. We ran a Limestone a month or so ago.....

Anyway, I think you are on my email list anyway, so I'll send on details.

Mike

Haven't heard from you Mike, so I'll reply here in case you lost my info...

I'll be in Australia that weekend, but the Cataracts should be running well into October. If you want to make another trip, let me know. I'm free every weekend except Oct 22-23 (That's Beer Slalom weekend!).

Hey Eric G/ Guido,

I was just up last weekend doing the Democrat run and have a blast and was looking at Richbar. I've never done it but think it's in my level from what I could see (usually I do the upper Kern, limestone, brush, cable, ant canyon -- the III and IV stuff).

but, as on most new runs, I like to go down it the first time with someone who knows it -- especially since Toilet Bowl is somewhere down there. Maybe next weekend we can hook up for a paddle?

Scott from the trip down the Forks late this summer, here.

I'll give you an email and maybe hook up for one more run with you this season.

Thanks for being so supportive of "our river".
