The guy looked like he had put some hard miles in for the day-thirsty, tired and confused; like someone did a drop off on him... Hopefully someone claims him and if not, someone should adopt him-he is classic-one of his eyes was blue. And I definitely think you did the right thing by taking him-I wasn't buying the ranger's line that she would "take care of him" if no one claimed him by 6. Straight to the pound would be my guess.
I think he thought about jumping in the car for a minute or two but I bet he was glad he did!

He seems pretty happy here and is making a big play for Nini's affections...
