I noticed South Silver and Dinkey have dropped pretty fast and I'm not sure if it was the drop in temps or if with the late run-off and corresponding mid-summer heat but I'm thinking things might really drop really fast. I'm thinking the windows for stuff that was already narrow window might tighten up even more. Can anyone speak from experience on the expected run-off durations for some of these high up runs in years like this? I was also wondering if the diurnal is might widen (so the flows are both high and low through the same day) and make it even tougher to time the windows for weekend warriors like myself.
Lots of driving, sweating and thinking recently to develop some theories (or is that a vision?) but I'm curious what folks have experienced in the past.
Thanks!

Here's a little light reading on Snow Melt Hydrology (from the people who build dams) to cultivate your theories:

Yo Speicher,
What are you talking about bro? I've been making LAPS on 49-B at 127cfs and it's the shit!! Optimum flow I'd say. I've also heard that the Reno Park is coming in soon. Probably another week or so before I'd say it's perfect flows. It's on the high side of good right now. Oh yeah, lastly, the Susan River at 27cfs is getting close to being done for the year. 34-38 is best, but it still goes at this level.
Hope this helps.

Just like I've been trying to say...
So I stated the obvious and flows are dropping fast and things are dropping out and new things are coming in fast. I'm just trying to keep up with the beta. Like I said I've had some time to theorize but am thinking it might be all crazy talk...I've got some reading to do.
Yeah due thanks for the help but honestly I don't care for the kinder, gentler New Randolph I must say I liked the old Randolph...what's the Reno pro tuber scene? You definitely do know what's running and when...and I thought you just took your boat on scenic hikes out of steep canyons and worshipped Rush? (...as far as your blatant homophobia...interesting...) Good to hear you are making the most of the good water year though! ...no soulboating without a stopwatch. Actually the South Silver race could be sweet, what's up with it? I gotta check that Susan river out before its done...thanks for the beta dude!
Sweaty Betty you're turning me on but WTF?! Its great when you can cool off on these 100+ days but for the good of boaters across the state lets hope that things don't drop out that quick. By the way where would you say you are the sweatiest?

New Randolph is like when Coca Cola introduced New Coke. Something was just a little bit different, but nobody seemed to like it.
Actually, I don't like to hike with my boat. Usually, I just leave it there and then deal with it later. If I go without a boat for a few weeks I can always go down to the ol' Reno park and steal some kids tube or boogie board.....
Still waiting to make the final call on the South Silver Race. We'll see, there might be other stuff that needs to get done this weekend.

Are you beating the kids up to swipe their boogie board?
