Hi

I'm going to kernville for a week with a friend. We are from spain and we are trying to run some creeks that, if possible are a lot different for what we are used to in Spain and Europe.

We will run some of the Kern and we are looking foward to run Brush and Dry Meadow creek if there is water.
Could you give us some more suggestions of rivers like Brush and Dry meadow?????

Thanks a lot guys!

Regards
Fernando

Just ran Brush yesterday and found it to be fun but maybe a bit on the lower end...heard it was 3 feet on the gauge but I didn't actually check it myself. It was fun but definitely scrapy.

Hey man,

There's tons of great boating on the Kern even if you get shut down on Brush and Dry Meadow. When you roll into Kernville, go to Sierra South and talk to the crew in there. They are on it for sure and will get you hooked up with the local beta. There phone number is 760376-3745.

If you're looking to get on some good Class V, I'd also suggest bouncing North to the Kaweah. It should be running for a little while and Hospital Rock is one of the better runs in the state. If you're lucky, you can catch it and the East Fork for a back to back creekin trip to the Kaweah.

Hope this helps. Later.

For runs like you mention
check out
North Fork Willow upper and lower sections (in the san Joaquin Drainage)
Dinkey Creek "the superdink" section (in the north fork Kings draingage)

for beta look at american whitewater's web site then go to rivers/ california

come on up to south silver on the south fork american if you can rally up here it should be in in the next week or so
for beta check out dreamflows river guide section

buena suerte
