Thinking of heading out some time this summer to get on fordyce. Need some help with the flows. How is the run at 250? Does it usually come up later in Aug? It is a 8-10 hr drive for me so I would like to make it worth it. Thanks for the help.

Can't help you on ideal flows, but there is a jeepers jamboree that they take the flow down for sometime this summer (it's an annual event). I beleive the flow is shut down for about a week to enable the jeeps to ford the river at the 4-5 crossings the trail has.
I was up on the summit (Magonical Summit and Lola Montez) two weeks ago and Fordyce is nice and full and there was still some snow on the ground. Let me know what you find out and when your going.

It will most likely hover around 200 cfs for the entire summer. I think the Jeep Jamboree is the first week in August, and the flow will be shut down to 50 cfs. 200 cfs may be good for a first time trip, but the more water the better....
Sounds good. Thanks for the help. I will probably head out later in Aug. and hope for more water. Todd I'll post before I come out to see if you are interested.
peace mike.
as of yesterday the campground host at the take-out said PG&E was going to drain part of Fordyce Lake to work on the dam in the next few weeks, however those four-wheelers have more influence of the flows than you'd think, jamboree or not...
