On the morning of July 3rd 2007 (roughly between the hours of 2:30 am and 9:00 am) my red wavesport forplay was stolen off of the roof of my honda civic.:wtf: The car was parked across from my apartment on 45th and Lincoln (in the Sunset). Due to the car's proximity to Golden Gate park and the fact that the straps were boxcuttered right at the metal clasp (rendering them unusuable), I believe that it was probably vagrant park-dwellers who stole my boat .

That was my ocean surf kayak and it allowed me to get wet and have fun in spite of this oppressive draught. Needless to say, if you see or hear anything about a red forplay (with custom jackson funbag outfitting) being sold by a non-boater or being used as a transient's latrine in Golden Gate park please contact me immediately at 503.419.7914 :thumbs up::bow:

Furthermore, I think that any boater in San Francisco would be wise to lock their boats to their roofs (if they are not taking their boats in) when parking overnight or in sketchy spots, regardless of how outmoded/not-flashy their old play kayak is.

Sorry to hear than Dan. I'll keep my eyes open since I live on 8th Avenue in the sunset. We've had a couple bikes stolen by those f'kers. Once, about a week after my friend's bike was stolen, I saw some bum pushing a shopping cart through the park with about 8 bicycle tires and a bunch of bike frames.

For a interesting related story. My girlfriend's bike was stolen one afternoon from Judah street. While she was walking home that evening, she found her bike sitting in the street next to one that was partially dismantled. She grabbed it and started leaving when some homeless dude approached her yelling that it was his bike. She says...NO, it's my bike, at which point he raised his fist and said he was going to deck her in the face if she didn't let go. Some crazy driving passerby screeches to a halt, jumps out, and holds a knife up to the bums throat yelling...."get the **** out here with your bike. Long story short, I bought her some pepper spray for her birthday.

Yes, I have always sensed that biking in San Francisco is particularly dangerous but I was just considering the hills and blind intersections and general street chaos. Having some pepper spray to defend your bike is probably a good thing. I would love to see that foreplay sitting in someones shopping cart and have them try and claim that it belonged to them. That would take some real audacity. Glad that your girlfriend was alright. Have heard stories of people actually getting punched in the face for no apparent or logical reason.
