Creeking with Phil Boyer - two 1-day clinics
Learn the techniques and mindset to start running harder whitewater from Jackson Kayak Creek Team member Phil Boyer. For solid class III and IV kayakers seeking the skills and expertise to run more challenging rivers, and have more confidence and fun on your favorite runs.

Phil, a member of Jackson Kayak creeking team, has spent the last 20 years kayaking, rafting and filming some of the most difficult and remote rivers of the world. When he is not guiding Grand Canyon Trips, he spends his time exploring rivers in Africa, Chile, Costa Rica, Japan, mexico, New Zealand, Norway, Turkey and his home turf in california's Sierra Nevada Mountains. See Phil in the new Hotel Charley volume 2 film by clear H2O films.

Using the chili bar section of the south fork of the American, you will learn how to make easy sections hard, and hard sections easy by focusing on:
SCOUTING AND READING RIVER FEATURES
BREAKING DOWN RAPIDS
SAFETY/RESCUE TECHNIQUES
BOOFING & FERRYING

Day One - Introduction - Saturday, June 30: Focus on fundamental moves

Day Two- Challenge - Sunday, July 1: Focus on more challenging moves

To maximize instructor/student ratio, class size is limited. Enroll in Day One, Day Two or both. We recommend participating in both days for more comprehensive skill progression.
