We'll be in CA. the 18th and 19th to run the American South Fork. We are really hoping to hook up with some other boaters who know the lines and to run shuttle with.

Thursday the 18th: Run the gorge, from lotus to folsom lake or salmon bridge, something like that.

Friday the 19th: Run Chili bar to troublemaker.

please Email me if you can paddle with us. We plan to rent boats at CA. canoe and kayak and camp at lotus camp ground.

Some boaters are talking about some of the consequences. What do think, what are the consequences?

If for some reason this river is that dangerous at this level can anyone suggest a less difficult river to run, but no weenie water please. We want at least a solid class III run and are comfortable with class III, IV. I'm just not familiar with a 6000cfs river. (yet)

George,
You should have no problems on the S. Fork if you are looking for some class III IV water. I was on the river last weekend ( 4 chili bar runs) and it was a fun level. Not too many play features with eddy service at this level, but still very fun. I would love to hit it up again but I wont be around this weekend. Have fun! Beautiful river.
