I am organizing an 11-day trip to the Tatshenshini River in Alaska. The permit is for 15 and was full but and we have a cancellation so I am looking for a replacement
Its a pretty amazing river, famous for the scenery and floating with icebergs. Many people say its one of the most beautiful rivers on earth. The river is rated class IV. With 11 days we should be able to a few layover camps, which will give us a good amount of time to explore and hike. Non-river activities include…hiking, climbing, ice climbing, glacier walking, nature watching, fishing, drinking, campfire, ect.
Here are some links that will give you a good idea of what this trip will be like…

My permit is for June 6 thru the 17th.
The shared trip costs will be about $800.00 per person (if it come out less…refunds will be given).
This includes:
Shuttle (air and road)
Group gear rental
Food, kitchen supplies
Canadian Permit Fees
Glacier Bay Permit Fees
And other various trip expenses.
This is a non commercial trip. All participants will be expected to help set with every aspect of the trip including: rigging, setting up camp/kitchen, cooking, pushing boats, ect.
As far as qualifications…
You don’t need to be an experienced river runner. You just need to be a easy going person that enjoys being part of a team. This trip shouldn’t be too physically demanding. Hiking and paddeling is optional. The one part of the trip that is physical is loading/unloading the boats and setting up camp. Everyone is expected to help out with this.
Right now we have 5 rafts with 3 people on each. All rafts will have oar frames. We currently have enought raft space for the trip, and I would prefer not to add more, due to the added expense of flying gear out. If someone wanted to bring a kayak...it is a possiblity but it would be very expensive to fly out, and the kayaker would be fully responsible to the added expense.
Please only sign up for this trip if you are easy going, and enjoy adventures.
Also, because we are trying to fill a cancelled spot...you would need to send me a $300.00 deposit right away(which is only refundable if a replacement can be found for your spot).
If you are intrested please email me (gene@krvproperties.com)
