Anyone up for some winter kayaking on the kern?

Many of the runs are still fun at low water, and durring storms its common for the river to pick up for a day or so.

Let me know

The lower kern is flowing at 1200 - there is a good chance it will hold for this weekend. Anyone into boating?

think it'll stay up like that for a while? I don't know if I can make it up this weekend but would love to. Maybe if not now then sometime soon.

I think with the over average snow pack they are dropping the lake so they have room for the runoff.

Hopefully the flow on the lower will stay up untill the upper starts coming in.

Boatable flows year round!!!

Gotta love the kern.

Heard (indirectly) from the watermaster that they have to keep lake levels below 245,000 AcFt - Keep an eye on the lake level and inflow and you should be able to make a guestimate of the short term release. Right now, with the lake at 244,000, they will probably just match the inflow...
